              About Us
              • The Online Racing Association is a class leader in the field of simulation racing and virtual motorsport.
              • TORA is officially recognised as a governing body for virtual motorsport by an FIA National Sporting Authority, the MSA. The Motor Sports Association (MSA) is the sole motorsport governing body for the United Kingdom.
              • As the governing body, the MSA is responsible for the governance and administration of all major forms of motor sports in the UK, controlling the technical and sporting rules across the various disciplines.

Originally named the Forza British GT Championship, then the BGTA, TORA’s inaugural championship, the Forza 2 British GT Championship held its first meeting on the 27th February 2008. TORA’s portfolio grew slowly in 2008, with the TORA Touring Car Championship and the TORA Rally Championship, also being formed in the organisation’s first year.
The "Challenge" series of championships was also introduced, with the TORA Peugeot Cup, and the TORA SEAT Supercup the following year.

After a year of development, The Online Racing Association was founded on Boxing Day 2008. With a new name and identity, the target was set for becoming a more professional entity. This was encouraged with the introduction of a new website as the face of the organisation, a more formal approach, and development of media such as, podcasts, race highlights, and promotional videos.
We introduced a number of new series in addition to those already established, the TORA Formula Le Mans Cup, TORA Touring Car Masters, and the TORA Le Mans Series, which was publicly announced live on the air, and to the spectators at La Sarthe, during the 77th running of the Le Mans 24 Hours. This championship was quickly established as TORA’s premier series. Other one off smaller events were also organised throughout the year.

On the 18th November, TORA’s Staff were guests on Radiolemans.com’s Midweek Motorsport magazine radio show, and announced the Association's plans for 2010 following much anticipation.

              2010
‘Ambitious’ would sum up the plans, with 12 championships and 4 major events planned to run throughout 2010!
The MINI Cooper JCW would be used in the third ‘’Challenge’’ series, whilst the TORA Classic Endurance Racing, TORA Historic Rally Championship, TORA V8 Challenge, TASCAR Cup and the TORA GT4 Championship would be added to the growing roster. In addition the 2010 TORA Race of Champions, Le Mans Classic 2010, Le 1er 2,4 Heures du Mans and 24 Runden Nurburgring 2010, would be major stand alone events to run throughout the year. On the 6th April, it was announced on the ‘Week in TORA’ podcast that three new expansion championship’s would be added to the calendar, resulting in TORA sanctioned events being held on each day of the week. These included a fourth ‘’Challenge’’ series in the TORA Abarth Trophy, the TORA Super GT Championship, and theTORA Formula DRiFT Cup.

The Online Racing Association became officially recognised by The Motor Sports Association UK, on 11th May. By August 2010 another major overhaul of TORA was underway with a number of significant changes both behind the scenes and in pubic undertaken. The number of sanctioned series was to be reduced and more community driven series encouraged. TORA also began steps to branch out into other avenues of race simulation in early September. By December 2010, TORA had reached its third birthday and with a more stable structure, plans for 2011 were well established. The organisation secured another years membership with the MSA and also secured the rights to the ‘International Sportscar Championship’ which would replace the TORA LMS branding.
TORA also continued with its mission of supporting new driving talent by commencing a sponsorship package for Louis Satterlee, who would start racing in the US before the end of the year and Ashley Sutton who competed in Formula Vee in 2010 and the Ford Fiesta Cup in 2011.

              2011
Another successful year of racing saw TORA's brand gain even more acknowledgement in the racing industry with link ups with Toyota specialists Rogue Motorsport and interviews with a number of top class drivers. Several new champions were crowned and our attention to real racing developments continued as the inclusion of NGTC spec touring cars and a reclassification of the sports car class structure kept TORA up to date and relevant.

              2012
2012 sees TORA moving to the all new Forza Motorsport 4 for its racing action. A spruced up website and increased media output sees regular race highlights for all TORA major series and a revamped podcast show. TORA also hit 500 members, proving that we really are THE place to race online.

The Online Racing Association as an MSA Recognised Group
TORA is the first and only online racing club that is officially recognized by the MSA. We strive to operate as any other MSA club would, without the financial and logistical restrictions that can apply to real world motor racing. We pride ourselves on providing a lo-cost environment for competitors to get into racing. As an MSA group, we are on par with the likes of the BTCC, British F3 and British GT and we are a viable way of getting into the sport. Many of our members have taken to the real track subsequent to racing with TORA and this is something we are keen to encourage.
We have made the decision to closely affiliate ourselves with the motorsport industry as motorsport simulation
becomes an ever increasingly useful tool in driver training and car evaluation. TORA aims to assist its members
in participating in or attending motorsport and enhancing their understanding of the industry. As such the following
partners represent the ideal contacts and resources for anyone interested in participating in motorsport at any level.
